Union Tavern
Welcome to the Union Tavern, pub, restaurant and accommodation in Kendal, Cumbria. The Union Tavern has nine ensuite bedrooms for bed and breakfast accommodation.
Tom and Maureen O'Shea have succesfully run the Union for almost twenty years providing locals and visitors with a traditional pub, good home cooked food and a comfortable stay in Kendal.
The rooms are a mix of singles, twins, doubles/family room - all are ensuite and all have tv and tea/coffee facilities. A full english breakfast is served or scrambled eggs if you prefer. Maureen tries to keep to locally produced, locally sourced ingredients from quality butchers etc for her home cooked meals. Bar meals are served evenings and a traditional sunday roast, see the menus page for more details.
The Union Tavern can also be the venue for small functions, buffets/hot pot suppers and more are available. The pub offers a full range of ales and lagers, and features a changing weekly cask ale on tap from a Cumbrian brewery such as Coniston or Hawkshead Breweries. The Union Tavern is lively and has pool and darts teams plus weekly (Sat eve) live music and sport on tv. See the whats on page.
The Union Tavern is easy to find on the way into Kendal from the North junction, the tavern's off road parking is adjacent. A couple of minutes walk will take you into "the auld grey town" of Kendal.
The Union Tavern, a traditional pub, and tradition is not a lot of trouble to Tom and Maureen.
